Club History

About 1970, a large group of Geauga County (Ohio) residents amicably split off from the Broken Wheel Square Dance Club to form a new part of the wheel: The Greasy Hubs. Our first dance was held on Saturday, March 21, 1970.
Dances were originally held on third Saturdays to alternate with Broken Wheels first and third Friday night dances, and to enlist the services of Mike Cochran, then club caller for both groups. Dance nights transitioned to second and fourth Saturdays, which has been the norm ever since. In 1987, we officially became Hubs, the name we bear today.
